Enseoul presents As Bloom Begins, a group exhibition reflecting on the quiet longing for spring felt in the depths of January, when warmth, colour and movement seem distant yet remain subtly in progress beneath the surface. Winter and spring function as metaphors for the shift between darkness and the fragile, often unseen presence of hope.

Featuring works by Clara Schweers, Delphine Lejeune, Kurina Sohn, Sun Lee and Tosja van Lieshout, the exhibition centres on the processes that precede renewal: buds forming underground and emotional states turning towards light long before they become visible.

Working across painting, sculpture and glass, the artists focus on material, form and change. From flower paintings to reimagined glass blossoms, sculptures made from traditional Korean hanji paper, and works developed through 3D printing, the exhibition highlights processes of growth that unfold out of sight.

As Bloom Begins explores ideas of change, renewal and anticipation, focusing on subtle developments before they become visible. By foregrounding the tension between what is seen and what quietly takes shape, the exhibition suggests that growth persists even during periods of stillness or uncertainty, offering a meditation on hope and belief that endures despite winter’s insistence on pause.
